It was during the academic year 2004/2005 that the series EIUC Occasional Papers was launched by Marsilio Editori S.P.A. in Venice (Italy). This series presents the proceedings of international seminars and diplomatic conferences organised by EIUC over the years.

ImageThe book titled  Beyond Activism: The impact of the human rights activities of the European Parliament is the second volume of the EIUC Occasional Papers series published by Marsilio Editori in Venice (ISBN 978-88-317-9215-8). It  was presented during a seminar organised by the Sub-Committee on Human Rights of the European Parliament on Tuesday 27 March 2007 in Brussels at the European Parliament.
    The seminar was devoted to a review of findings and recommendations in the study by same name conducted by EIUC at the request of the Parliament.  The seminar was opened by Mr. Hans-Gert Pöttering, President of the European Parliament and was chaired by Ms. Hélène Flautre, Chair of the Sub-Committee on Human Rights. EIUC President, Prof. Horst Fischer, and EIUC Secretary General, Dr. George Ulrich, addressed the seminar, which  was attended by several high representatives of the EU institutions and other important actors in the area of human rights.
