The EIUC EU-UN Fellowship Programme is a one-year project that complements the training activities of the E.MA by providing high level operational working experience for graduates of the master's programme. Its aim is to transfer knowledge and expertise on the operation and inter-relationship of the institutions of the European Union, the Member States, and the United Nations in the field of human rights. This unique programme was initiated in 1996 within the Human Rights and Democratisation Unit of the European Commission and has since gathered unanimous appreciation by all actors involved. The project provides 5 E.MA graduates annually with expertise in EU activities at the UN, thus boosting a multiplier effect for future work experience. At the same time it extends the human resources capacities of EU offices by supplying them with experts who present a strong track record in the promotion of human rights. |

September 2005 marked the launch of the GTZ/EIUC Internship Programme, the second chapter of the EIUC/GTZ cooperation agreement. Immediately following their graduation, six E.MA graduates were selected by GTZ for paid internships of a duration of 3-5 months. These were: Tina Hofstaetter, Isabelle Tschan, Nora Holzmann, Klavdija Cernilogar, Georg Huber-Grabenwarter, and Tirza Theunissen. All interns performed very well and the GTZ units supervising them reported that they benefited from their input. |
