The on-line catalogue enables researchers to look through all the documents and materials housed in the library (books, international scientific reviews, DVDs). It is also possible to make research within ejournals (http://ejournals.ebsco.com/home.asp ) by EBSCO EJS, with full text available for all the journals subscribed by the library. HeinOnline (http://heinonline.org/ ) databases are under subscription during the academic year 2010/2011. Please ask the librarian to access them.
Other open access databases sure to be useful are:
- EUR-Lex (http://eur-lex.europa.eu/en/index.htm ): European Union Law.
- UNTS (http://treaties.un.org/Home.aspx ): United Nations Treaties.
- ODS http://ods.un.org/ ): Official Documents System of the United Nations.
- HUDOC (http://www.echr.coe.int/ECHR/EN/hudoc ): European Court of Human Rights Case law.
- OSCE (http://www.osce.org/resources/25536.html ): many databases for different topics.
- DOAJ (http://www.doaj.org/ ): Directory of Open Access Journals.
In addition, Hurisearch (http://www.hurisearch.org/ ) is a search engine specialised in human rights. It’s devoted entirely to human rights and related topics, and since it gives more visibility to the documentation of small institutions and NGOs, Hurisearch results as an extremely useful tool for researching documents on human rights.
The most consulted materials are the E.MA theses. Here (In this excel file) it is possible to find them all, catalogued by years. E.MA theses for the academic years from 1997/1998 until 2003/2004 are available for consultation in the EIUC Library. From the academic year 2004/2005, each E.MA student has been allowed to decide the modalities of use and consultation of her/his own thesis.
